Costume Contest on 10/31 - Guidelines

Students may dress up for Halloween on Friday but are expected to follow all guidelines or they will be asked to change into uniform pants and shirt.

Be Safe:

  • Students must keep their face visible at all times.  No masks, hoods, full-face makeup or excessive makeup/gore.
  • Weapons or replica weapons may never be brought to school.
  • Costumes may not be such that they restrit the movement of a stuen, obscue the view of othes, or cause a danger to themselves or others.
  • Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times.
  • No high heels or open toed shoes.

Be Responsible:

  • Costumes may not be revealing or sexually explicit in any way.  No bathing suits, short skirts/shorts, revealing sleepwear, etc.
  • Costumes must not interview with the instructional program other student's right to learn.
  • Costumes must be "appropriate" for students at the middle school level. (if necessary, administration will make the final determination)

Be Respectful:

  • Costumes should be fun but may not be demeaning to any ethnic group, race, religion, handicapping condition, gender, or individual students/staff member.
  • Students should respect themselves and the rights of others to safely enjoy the Halloween celebration, noontime activity, and related school-sponsored festivities.
  • Respect the class environment and remember that while we want to have fun, we are here to learn.
